Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 24, 2026

1. Scope and Controller Information

This Privacy Policy explains how Infera Corp, a Delaware corporation ("Infera," "we," "our," or "us"), collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use our websites, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

This Policy applies to users who visit our website, create accounts, upload or access content, and communicate with us about the Services.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

  • Account and profile data: name, email address, firm name, user role, and other registration information.
  • Customer content: documents, files, and metadata you upload or generate through the Services.
  • AI-derived data: structured fields, classifications, extracted values, summaries, and other outputs generated from uploaded content by automated systems.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, features used, referral interactions, approximate timestamps, and interaction events.
  • Technical data: device and browser information, IP-derived information, log records, and error diagnostics.
  • Communications: information you provide when contacting support or submitting feedback.

3. Website Analytics, Session Replay, Visitor Identification, and Scheduling

On our public-facing website, we use third-party services to understand website usage, improve the visitor experience, identify potential business customers, and facilitate demo scheduling.

We use Google Tag Manager to deploy and manage website tags, including Google Analytics. These services may collect information such as pages viewed, referral sources, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, and interactions with the website. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay. Clarity may capture page rendering, clicks, mouse movements, scrolling, navigation paths, device and browser information, and similar interaction data using cookies and related technologies. We use this information to improve website usability, diagnose problems, and evaluate the effectiveness of our marketing. For more information about how Microsoft processes information, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement at https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.

We use Leadfeeder, provided by Dealfront Group GmbH and its affiliates, as a business-to-business website visitor identification service. Leadfeeder may process IP address, pages visited, visit timestamps, referral source, browser and device information, and recurring-visit information. It may use this information to identify the business or organization associated with a website visit and help us understand potential business interest in Infera. For more information, see Leadfeeder's Privacy Notice at https://www.leadfeeder.com/privacy/privacy-notice/.

Our demo-scheduling page includes an embedded scheduling service provided by Calendly, LLC. When you interact with the scheduling tool, Calendly may collect information you submit, such as your name, email address, telephone number, company, meeting preferences, and other information included in the booking form. Calendly may also collect device, browser, IP address, cookie, and usage information. Calendly processes scheduling information on our behalf and as described in its Privacy Notice at https://calendly.com/legal/privacy-notice.

These services are intended for our public marketing website. We do not intentionally provide uploaded legal documents, customer matter content, or information contained in those documents to these website analytics, visitor-identification, or scheduling providers.

4. AI and Automated Processing

Infera uses automated and AI-enabled systems to process uploaded documents and related data in order to extract information, classify documents, and generate workflow-ready outputs. To perform this processing, we transmit document content and related data to OpenAI, L.L.C. ("OpenAI"), which provides the machine-learning models we use for extraction and classification through its API platform. This processing is designed to support your requested use of the Services.

We may also use other similar AI/ML service providers from time to time, in addition to or in place of OpenAI, to provide and improve the Services. Any such provider is subject to the same data handling principles described in this Section, and we will update this Policy to name a new provider when required by applicable law.

Unless otherwise expressly disclosed in writing, we do not use Customer Data to train third-party generalized AI models. We may use aggregated or de-identified information to improve product quality, reliability, and performance where permitted by law.

OpenAI does not use data submitted through its API to train or improve its models. Under OpenAI's standard API data-handling terms, however, content we transmit may be retained by OpenAI for a limited period — currently up to 30 days — solely to detect and prevent abuse or misuse of its platform, after which it is deleted. OpenAI does not retain this content for any other purpose. We work to minimize the data our AI processing provider retains on our behalf, including by pursuing a zero-retention arrangement with OpenAI; if and when such an arrangement takes effect, we will update this Policy to reflect it.

5. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our platform.
  • Authenticate users and secure accounts.
  • Run AI-assisted extraction, classification, and document workflow features.
  • Diagnose errors, detect abuse, and maintain reliability.
  • Respond to support requests and communicate updates.
  • Measure product performance and feature adoption.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
  • Identify business organizations that may be interested in Infera and conduct business-to-business sales and marketing activities.

6. Legal Bases for Processing

Depending on your location, we rely on one or more legal bases to process personal information, including: (a) performance of a contract, (b) legitimate interests such as security and service improvement, (c) compliance with legal obligations, and (d) consent where required by law.

7. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We may share data with service providers who process data on our behalf to operate the platform, including analytics and error monitoring providers.

We may also disclose information:

  • To comply with law, regulation, subpoena, or lawful government request.
  • To protect the rights, safety, and security of users, Infera, or others.
  • In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or asset transfer.
  • With AI and cloud subprocessors that support core service functionality, including OpenAI and any other AI/ML providers described in Section 4, which process document content to provide extraction and classification.
  • With the analytics, session-replay, business visitor-identification, and scheduling providers described in Section 3.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our service providers use cookies, scripts, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember preferences, analyze website usage, create heatmaps and session replays, identify business organizations visiting our public website, measure marketing performance, and facilitate demo scheduling.

Some cookies are necessary for website or application functionality. Others are used for analytics, performance measurement, behavioral analysis, or marketing purposes. The cookies and technologies used may vary depending on the page you visit and the choices available in your jurisdiction.

You can generally control cookies through your browser settings. Where required by applicable law, we will request consent before using non-essential cookies and provide a method for withdrawing that consent. Disabling cookies may affect certain website or scheduling functionality.

For more information about the technologies used by our providers, please review the provider notices linked in Section 3.

9. Data Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information and customer data.

10. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. This describes how long Infera itself retains your data.

Data that our AI processing subprocessor, OpenAI, receives to perform extraction and classification on our behalf is retained by OpenAI only for the limited period described in Section 4 (currently up to 30 days, solely for abuse monitoring), and is not retained by OpenAI to train its models.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in jurisdictions other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

12. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise these rights, contact us at support@inferalaw.com . We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

13. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for professional users and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. However, because users may upload legal and financial documents (including tax records), we may process personal information about children when provided by authorized adult users in connection with their use of the Services.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
